Family and household budget

A household budget app for families who share the bills.

Rent or the mortgage, groceries, utilities, the car, the kids' activities. NetWorth+ keeps the household's shared bills in one place, splits them the way you agreed, and gives each adult their own budget. No bank login, and no joint account needed.

In short

NetWorth+ is a household budget app for iPhone and Android. A family's shared bills go in one group and are split equally, by percentage or by exact amounts, with a running balance of who owes whom. Each adult keeps their own budget by category, their own accounts and their own net worth, and can share one account's balance read-only with the others. It never asks for a bank login. NetWorth+ is for adults, so there are no accounts for children, and there is no single budget that two people edit together.

How it works

Shared bills together, budgets your own

One group for the household

Mortgage or rent, groceries, utilities and the car go in a household group, split the way you agreed.

Who owes whom, kept for you

A running balance across every shared bill. Settle up when it suits you and record it.

Each adult's own budget

Budgets by category for your own spending, and your own accounts and net worth.

Share a balance, read-only

Let your partner see the joint checking balance. They see its name and balance, never its transactions.

Getting started

A household budget in one evening

1

Make a household group

Add the adults who share the bills. Each uses NetWorth+ on their own phone, with their own login.

2

Add the shared bills

Who paid and how it splits: equally, by percentage or by exact amounts.

3

Set your own budget

Groceries, dining out, kids' activities: a monthly amount per category, and see what is left.

4

Settle up monthly

Pay each other back by Venmo, Zelle or cash, record it, and start the month at zero.

What NetWorth+ does not do for families

There is no single budget that two people edit together, and no accounts for children: NetWorth+ is for adults, 18 and over. If one shared budget is what your household needs, a joint-budget app will suit you better, and we would rather say so here.

Questions

Good to know

Is NetWorth+ a good family budget app?
It is a good fit if each adult keeps their own money and you share the household bills. It is not the right fit if you want one budget that two people edit together.
Can my spouse and I share a budget?
You share the household bills in a group and each keep your own budget. You can also share one account's balance read-only, such as a joint checking account.
Can kids use it?
No. NetWorth+ is for adults, 18 and over.
Does it link to our bank?
No. NetWorth+ never asks for a bank login. Each of you adds transactions yourself, imports a CSV from your bank, or types them to Numo or scans a receipt.
Is it free?
Yes. The free plan covers shared bills, budgets and net worth, with up to 5 accounts each, and has no time limit or ads. Pro is $49.99 a year or $7.99 a month in the US.
